Miranda Stacey is currently Head of Exhibitions at the Barbican Art Gallery. Miranda has over 20 years’ experience in the field of exhibition management including 13 years at the National Gallery where she managed high-profile exhibitions such as ‘Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan’, ‘The Sacred Made Real: Spanish Painting and Sculpture’ and ‘Bill Viola: the Passions’. Miranda has also worked on new commissions and curatorial projects with artists such as Bridget Riley, Richard Wentworth, Chris Ofili, Michael Landy, Conrad Shawcross, Mark Wallinger, Bill Viola and Sonia Boyce. Since 2016 Miranda has been primarily covering Head of Exhibitions roles in a freelance/contract capacity for a variety of organisations across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors including the National Gallery, Design Museum, RIBA, the British Council and currently the Barbican Art Gallery. Miranda’s areas of expertise include international touring and partnership programmes, exhibition planning and strategies, contract negotiations, risk management, change management, public programming and audience development. She is passionate about sustainability within the temporary exhibitions sector and increasing access to and awareness of the profession for under-represented groups.
