Description

Sandy Wood has been curator at the collections of the Royal Scottish Academy of Art & Architecture, Edinburgh, since 2013, having begun museum life there as a technician after completing a course in fine art at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen. Sandy has over 15 years' experience working in museums and galleries. As a curator in a small independent institution his job involves all aspects of the management, care of and access to a nationally important collection of fine art, Recognised by the Scottish Government as a collection of National Significance to Scotland. The RSA mounts a programme of diverse exhibitions and regularly tours shows around Scotland, featuring work from its collections and work produced by emerging and established contemporary artists. Sandy is a TEG committee member (as of 2019) and represents and engages with the touring exhibitions field on behalf of artists and Scottish independent institutions.
