Job Vacancy: Art Fund Going Places Project Manager

Art Fund: Going Places Project Manager

Location: King’s Cross, London

Contract length: 16 months

Closing date: 20 Mar 2023

Other details: Salary – £40,000

The role

This is an exciting new fixed term role in Art Fund’s programmes team. You’ll play the lead role in the strategic development and delivery of ‘Going Places’, Art Fund’s new UK-wide programme that aims to engage and involve underrepresented audiences with museum collections through high quality, collaborative touring exhibitions and public programmes. This role has been made possible through the generous support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund which has awarded a development grant to help Art Fund progress its plans in this area and apply for a full NLHF delivery grant in late 2024.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of the Going Places programme. You’ll work closely with the wider team at Art Fund and with project stakeholders to establish the museum networks, and support participating museums to conceive and develop outline plans for a five-year delivery phase including target audiences, an approach to community consultation and/or community co-curation, exhibition themes and collections areas. You’ll manage strategic partnerships with project stakeholders, as well as oversee the tendering and work of specialist consultants and experts brought in to support elements of the programme, such as activity planning, evaluation and environmental sustainability.

Alongside Going Places you will also take an active role in key strategic grant relationships linked to other Art Fund supported exhibition touring projects, to facilitate the assimilation of learnings and build organisational expertise in this area.

In this role you’ll work closely with the Deputy Director of Programme & Policy, and other colleagues to make improvements to the programmes, deliver research and evaluation, and forge excellent working relationships with museum networks and partners.
