Maria Ragan, Director - St Barbe Museum & Art Gallery

Description

Maria has worked in the Museum sector since 1984, starting in the British Museum as Head of Information Service, eventually working on the provision of public services for the Great Court. She moved to the Horniman Museum in 1999 as Head of Exhibitions and Design, working on both permanent and temporary exhibition projects. In December 2014, she became the Manager of the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, UCL. In September 2018, Maria became Director of St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery in the New Forest. Maria has worked on major partnership projects with the Wellcome Collection, Kew Gardens, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, the British Museum, Kelvingrove Museum, Museon in the Hague, Central St Martins Art School, Random International and Bompas and Parr. Maria is a Committee Member of ICOM UK, on the TEG Committee and a panel member of the ACE Accreditation Committee.
